Orateur : Christoph Egbers
Titre : Physics of rotating fluids : Geophysical and technical applications
Date et lieu : Mardi 2 Décembre à 14h00 au M2P2, petit amphi, IMT La Jetée, 2ème étage
Résumé : The talk covers current investigations on turbulent Taylor-Couette flows as part of the german
DFG research group 1186 "Turbulence in Rayleigh-Bénard-, Taylor-Couette- and pipe flows".
Beside this, I will report on actual results on our baroclinic wave tank experiment as well as on
our results from the current ISS-experiment "Geoflow", the spherical gap experiment with radial
directed convection induced by dielectrophoretic force field generation. Technical application
of such rotating flows will concern journal bearing flows.
